Weymouth Art Association
Weymouth Art is open to the community offering artist demonstrations and more!
Demo Artist, presentations, workshops and judges for art shows are supported in part by a grant from the Weymouth Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts
Cultural Council a state agency.
Mission Statement:
Weymouth Art Association is dedicated to promoting and encouraging education, creative
art its understanding and appreciation by providing demonstrations and workshops for
benefit of members and the community.



Weymouth Art Association began in the 1930's with a small group of artists who met in a storefront in Weymouth Landing. WAA was established in 1961. One of their founders Bessie Starkie, who (below) became the WAA first acting president.
Weymouth Art Association has been meeting at Tufts Library once a month with an artist who would perform an educational presentation. The goal has always been to support our artist and open up a learning experience to the community. WAA has two judged shows a year and offers the Around Town display program to it's artist members on a two month rotation.
